Overview

The #CultureNotCostume campaign was created to create awareness of and around cultural appropriation at Elon University during the Halloween season.

Deliverables

With the support of the Center for Race, Ethnicity, and Diversity Education (CREDE), I rolled out a week-long print and social media campaign titled "Culture Not Costume."

Printed posters of each student of color from different racial and ethnic backgrounds with their corresponding quote were posted around campus.

 

On the CREDE Instagram account, each day of the week leading up to Halloween, I posted a carousel as part of the Center for Race, Ethnicity, and Diversity Education's special Instagram series.

 

Impact

This series boosted the CREDE Instagram account following, increased interactions by 300% and increased post engagements by 200-800%
